Meditate to Proliferate
"Are you busy?" "Can you do me a favor?" "What's going on tonight?" "What are we having for dinner?" "Do I have any clean clothes for tomorrow?" "Did you call and make that appointment?" These are all questions we have asked or been asked in the course of our lifetime. How you react and handle stressful situations or an overload of responsibilities is determined by your focus.
Meditating at least five to ten minutes per day, either in the morning or in the evening, will provide useful relaxation and stress management that will help you succeed in your life. Why does this work you ask… it's because by addressing and facing the obstacles you have will put your mind at ease. Overcoming influences that are negatively affecting your mood will make you happier and less "stressed out".
There are many types of meditation, but most have four elements in common: a quiet location with as few distractions as possible; a specific, comfortable posture (sitting, lying down, walking, or in other positions); a focus of attention (a specially chosen word or set of words, an object, or the sensations of the breath); and an open attitude (letting distractions come and go naturally without judging them).
Coupled with meditation, you can take other steps to help your body deal with everyday activities and stress. You should make time to take time and take care of yourself.
