My Life is Pretty Fun
Six years ago, I never would have seen myself living the life I’m living now. Back then, I was only drinking Dr. Pepper, laying around binge-watching shows, and feasting on food that had no nutritional value. I cannot imagine that life now, it seems so distant to me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I wasn't happy and I was still “living my best life” as some would say, but everything is just better now because I have changed my eating and fitness habits. Chiropractic care is one of the big factors that helped make this happen.
The first big change I did for myself was stop drinking soda. I WAS ADDICTED to that sweet DP, and I would have multiple sodas each day. It was a hard change to make, but now I barely drink one soda a week. I concentrate all my thirst on water and I try to drink half my body weight in ounces of it each day. You wouldn’t believe how big of a difference getting enough water will do to your body. After that, I continued to progress one step at a time, trust me it’s a long process.
Long story short, I started paying attention to what I was eating & started being more active in general. I also started receiving regular chiropractic adjustments. Life changer right there on it’s own. Now, I feel like my life is fun. I spend my days playing sand volleyball, riding my bike, and going on intense hikes I never would have dreamed of doing. Kayaking is one of my all time favorite things to do, and I have recently started rollerblading again. My husband tells me all the time “Suns out so Kim's out”, and he ain’t lying.
I always seem to have some exciting activity planned, and with summer being here it only intensifies. Every chance I get, I am outside doing something, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Not feeling bogged down and tired is really all due to the changes I have made for myself in regards to eating, drinking, exercising, and getting adjusted. It is so nice to be able to do things that I always wanted to do, but I knew it wasn’t doable at that time or I wouldn’t be able to finish or keep up. Yeah, I’d say I have a fun life now.
Moral of my story, be like me and live a fun life. If that means you have to change some habits to get you there… so be it. The me six years ago wanted this life, just didn't know the necessary steps to get me here. Now I do, and starting my chiropractic journey led me to it.
